**Anaheim, California (September 19, 2024):** Marvel Studios is bringing back the beloved witch, Agatha Harkness, in her own series, “Agatha All Along,” premiering on Disney+ Hotstar. The show picks up three years after the events of “WandaVision,” with Agatha trapped in Westview and stripped of her powers.
“It was the incredible fan response to Kathryn Hahn’s performance in ‘WandaVision’ that made this story possible,” said Mary Livanos, executive producer of the series. “Agatha is quite an obscure character in the comics, and it’s exciting that she’s now headlining her own Marvel Studios series.”
“Agatha All Along” promises a darker, more horror-driven approach than its predecessor. “This is a celebration of horror and fantasy, and we’ve taken inspiration from pop culture references surrounding witches,” Livanos explained.
The show’s tone reflects the multifaceted talent of Kathryn Hahn, who plays Agatha. “She can deliver comedy, tragedy, and horror,” Livanos said. “We wanted the show to reflect all the incredible shades she can bring.”
Joining Hahn in the series is Aubrey Plaza, who plays the warrior witch Rio Vidal. “Rio shares a dark and complicated history with Agatha,” Livanos explained. “She holds many of the keys to Agatha’s truth.”
The show features practical effects and a giant, spooky set for the Witches’ Road, which the coven must traverse to regain their magic. The series premieres on Disney+ Hotstar with weekly episodes dropping until October 30.
