**Kaduna, Nigeria -** Nigerian troops have achieved significant successes in the ongoing fight against banditry in Kaduna State. In separate operations, troops neutralized four bandits and rescued 20 kidnapped victims across Birnin Gwari and Giwa Local Government Areas.

The operations, conducted by troops of Operation Forest Sanity and Operation Whirl Punch, saw the troops engage bandits in Alawa, Birnin-Gwari LGA, and near Polewire village, also in Birnin-Gwari LGA.

The troops, in the first operation, successfully neutralized two bandits and recovered weapons including two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, three motorcycles, and one Baofeng Radio.

In the second operation, troops rescued 20 kidnapped victims after responding to a distress call. The bandits, who had kidnapped locals near Polewire village, fled the scene upon the arrival of the troops.

Governor Uba Sani commended the security forces for their bravery and dedication, highlighting the success as a testament to their commitment in fighting bandits and insurgents.

**Gunrunners Arrested in Plateau State**

Meanwhile, in Plateau State, troops of Operation Safe Haven arrested five suspected gunrunners, including a female, in Jos North Local Government Area. The suspects were arrested in the Bauchi Road community following a raid on their hideout.

Weapons and ammunition of different calibers were recovered during the operation. The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation to provide information on other members of the syndicate and disrupt the gunrunning supply chain.

The successes in Kaduna and Plateau states underscore the Nigerian Army’s continued efforts to combat insecurity in the country. The government and security forces remain committed to protecting citizens and restoring peace to affected regions.
