DETROIT – The Hudson’s Detroit Tower, set to become the second tallest building in Michigan, has reached its highest point. Construction crews have completed the installation of glass panels on the building’s exterior, marking a significant milestone in the project.

The skyscraper, located at the intersection of Woodward and Grand River in downtown Detroit, is the largest ground-up development in the city in over 50 years. More than 3,500 tradespeople have contributed to its construction, according to Bedrock Detroit, the company behind the project.

“The talent and dedication of Detroit’s tradespeople has been a driving force on the Hudson’s Site,” said Dan Gilbert, Founder & Chairman of Bedrock. “We are proud of their individual contributions, that will make this a generational development and will surely enhance the city’s skyline for Detroiters and visitors for decades to come.”

Once completed, the Hudson development will offer over 1.5 million square feet of space, including retail, office, dining, hospitality, residential, and event amenities. The tower’s upper floors will house nearly 100 residential units, offering stunning city views. A 5-star hotel with over 200 luxury rooms will also be part of the development.

Additional features include an outdoor plaza, an indoor gallery showcasing public art and exhibitions, and year-round programming. At 681 feet tall, the Hudson Building will stand second in height to the Renaissance Center, which reaches 727 feet.

Construction on the exterior will continue in the coming weeks with the removal of the construction elevator on the north side of the tower. The Hudson’s Detroit Tower is expected to be a significant addition to the Detroit skyline and a catalyst for further growth and development in the city’s downtown area.
