Wed Sep 18 04:37:00 UTC 2024: ## Taiwanese Pager Company Denies Involvement in Lebanon Explosions

**New Taipei, Taiwan** – Gold Apollo, a Taiwanese company, has denied any involvement in the deadly pagers that detonated in Lebanon on Tuesday, killing at least nine and injuring nearly 3,000.

While images of the destroyed pagers showed similarities to Gold Apollo products, the company insists that the AR-924 model was manufactured and sold by a European company called BAC, which holds a license to use their brand. Gold Apollo CEO Hsu Ching-Kuang stated that the company only provided trademark authorization and had no role in the design or production of the pagers.

Hezbollah, the Lebanese group that allegedly used the pagers, reportedly ordered 5,000 units from Gold Apollo. However, a senior Lebanese security source claims that Israel’s Mossad planted explosives inside the pagers months before the explosions.

Gold Apollo expressed concern and embarrassment over the incident, emphasizing that they are a responsible company and victims of the situation.

The company’s statement comes amidst an ongoing investigation by Hezbollah, which is examining the cause of the explosions. The incident has raised serious questions about the role of technology in modern warfare and the potential for unintended consequences.
