Sat Sep 14 17:15:55 UTC 2024: ## Brighton Held to Goalless Draw by Resilient Ipswich
**BRIGHTON, England** – Brighton & Hove Albion’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end on Saturday as they were held to a goalless draw by a resolute Ipswich Town at the Amex Stadium. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Brighton failed to find the back of the net, dropping their first home points of the campaign.
Newly promoted Ipswich, on the other hand, earned their second point of the season, thanks in large part to a stellar performance from goalkeeper Arijanet Muric. The young keeper made several crucial saves, including a string of stops in the 36th minute to deny Brighton’s Georginio Rutter and Kaoru Mitoma.
The first half saw Brighton apply consistent pressure, with Carlos Baleba forcing Muric into an early save and Danny Welbeck narrowly missing an opportunity to set up Mitoma. The second half continued in similar fashion, with Rutter narrowly missing the target and Welbeck coming close with a free kick.
Despite Brighton’s dominance, Ipswich managed to threaten on the counter-attack, with Liam Delap hitting the upright in the 55th minute. The visitors then enjoyed a brief spell of possession, with substitute Jack Clarke proving dangerous with a couple of runs, but Brighton ultimately controlled the majority of the game.
Ultimately, Brighton’s frustration mounted as the clock ticked down. Lewis Dunk’s free kick struck the wall and Mitoma’s effort was easily saved by Muric as Ipswich held on for a valuable point.
Brighton remain in third place with eight points from four matches, but will be disappointed with the result. Ipswich, meanwhile, will be delighted with a hard-earned draw against a strong opponent.
