**LONDON** – According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, the real reason behind the growing rift between Prince William and Prince Harry is the Prince of Wales’ desire to avoid constant frustration caused by their differences. Seward, writing for the Mirror, suggests that William found it easier to distance himself from his brother than to continuously deal with the fallout from Harry’s public criticisms of the monarchy, which have intensified since he and Meghan Markle stepped down from royal duties in 2020.
Seward points to William’s sensitive nature and his need for structure and perseverance, arguing that his relationship with Harry has caused him more distress than he lets on. “He found it easier to cut ties rather than allow himself to be continually annoyed,” she said.
The expert also highlighted the personal challenges William has faced in the past year, including his father’s cancer diagnosis and Kate’s abdominal surgery and subsequent cancer treatment.
