**Bengaluru, India** – Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the first phase of 100 new buses for the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on Thursday, promising a total of 840 new buses for the city. The event, held at Vidhana Soudha, marked a significant step in addressing the growing transportation needs of Bengaluru’s burgeoning population.

Speaking at the event, CM Siddaramaiah highlighted the government’s commitment to improving public transportation and providing affordable amenities for the working class. He emphasized the success of the ‘Shakti Yojana’ and other guarantee schemes aimed at benefiting the poor and middle class, urging citizens to disregard “propaganda” from the opposition BJP.

“We are committed to implementing these guarantee schemes effectively,” stated the CM, emphasizing the government’s focus on providing financial aid to families in need. He cited the Gruhalakshmi scheme, which provides financial assistance to women, and the ongoing efforts to ensure access to affordable rice despite challenges from the central government.

The CM also praised the government’s efforts to strengthen the BMTC, stating that the current administration has purchased four times more new buses than the previous government. He expressed confidence that the additional buses will help ease the growing transportation burden on the city’s residents.

The event was attended by several dignitaries including Transport Minister Ramalingareddy, Housing Minister Jamir Ahmed, and Energy Minister KJ George.
