Thu Sep 12 03:36:49 UTC 2024: ## Rahul Gandhi’s US Speech Sparks Controversy: Pro-Khalistani Elements Spotted at Event, BJP Accuses Him of “Dangerous Narrative”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent speech in Virginia, USA, has sparked controversy after reports surfaced of pro-Khalistani elements attending the event. Government sources revealed that representatives from Baba Makhan Shah Gurdwara in Richmond Hill, known for its involvement in anti-India protests, were present. This gurdwara previously held an event to support protesters against the Modi government’s farm laws repeal and organized a car rally to Times Square in New York, where anti-India slogans were chanted, protesting the arrest of separatist Amritpal Singh.

Gandhi’s speech addressed the perceived “threats” faced by the Sikh community in India, particularly focusing on the right to wear a turban and kada, and access to gurdwaras. He claimed this was the “real fight,” sparking immediate condemnation from the BJP. The party accused Gandhi of trying to create a dangerous narrative by speaking on sensitive issues abroad.

Further adding fuel to the fire, Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun endorsed Gandhi’s remarks, stating they were “bold and pioneering,” and supported the SFJ’s call for a Punjab Independence Referendum to establish a Sikh homeland, Khalistan.

This incident highlights the growing concern surrounding the potential influence of pro-Khalistani elements in international gatherings and the delicate balance of addressing legitimate concerns of minority communities while avoiding the promotion of separatism and violence.
