Thu Sep 12 03:16:00 UTC 2024: ## PAS Youth Threatens Street Protests if Government Ignores Criticism

**Temerloh, Pahang** – The youth wing of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) has issued a stark warning to the Pakatan Harapan government, threatening street protests if their criticisms are ignored.

Speaking at the PAS Youth muktamar in Temerloh today, chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden accused the government of attempting to silence dissent. “They (Harapan) went to the extent of lying down on the street during protests,” he said, implying that the government is hypocritically suppressing dissent while claiming to be democratic.

This statement comes as a strong indication of the growing frustration within PAS ranks with the current administration. The youth wing’s threat of street protests could potentially escalate political tensions in Malaysia, particularly as the country heads towards the next general election.

It remains to be seen how the government will respond to this latest challenge.
