**London, England** – Lee Carsley, the new interim manager of the England national team, has steered the Three Lions to a 2-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland in his first game in charge. Goals from Declan Rice and Jack Grealish secured the win in the Nations League clash at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
While acknowledging the responsibility of his new position, Carsley stressed that he sees himself as a head coach rather than a manager in the traditional sense.
