**Bannu, Pakistan:** In a dramatic turn of events, Special Judge of Central-II Islamabad, Humayun Dilawar, who convicted former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case, is now facing arrest warrants in a land grabbing case.
The warrants were issued by a Judicial Magistrate in Bannu on Tuesday, alongside warrants for Judge Dilawar’s father, brother, and a registrar. The arrest order stems from a case registered by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), which alleges that the judge and his family illegally registered land intended for government use in their names, subsequently developing it into a housing society.
The KP ACE alleges that Judge Dilawar served as the chief executive of this housing society, resulting in millions of rupees in losses for the government.
The arrest warrants come less than a year after Judge Dilawar convicted Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case, sentencing him to three years in prison. The IHC later suspended Khan’s sentence, but this latest development has intensified political tensions in the country.
The news has sparked outrage among PTI supporters, who see it as an attempt to discredit Judge Dilawar for his decision in the Toshakhana case.
The accused individuals have denied the allegations, with Judge Dilawar maintaining his innocence and arguing that the case is politically motivated. The situation remains fluid, with further developments expected in the coming days.
