Sat Sep 07 12:27:59 UTC 2024: Hokato Hotozhe Sema made history by winning a Bronze medal in Men’s Shotput F57 at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Sema, a 27-year-old athlete from Nagaland, showed tremendous determination and secured third place with a throw of 14.65 meters. He is the first athlete from Nagaland to win a Paralympic medal. Sema, a former soldier in the Indian Army’s 9 Assam Regiment, had his dreams shattered at 18 when he was seriously injured in a mine blast in 2002. Despite the setback, he persevered and excelled in para sports, achieving success at international levels. Sema’s achievement is a testament to his resilience and dedication.
