**New Delhi, September 8, 2024:** India’s rising star, Shubman Gill, celebrated his 25th birthday today with well wishes from BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah. Shah, in a tweet, praised Gill’s “incredible poise and confidence” in his international career and expressed excitement for many more match-winning performances from the young batsman.

Gill has already become a pivotal figure in India’s ODI team, playing a key role in their journey to the 2023 World Cup final. He is now looking to solidify his place as India’s next all-format batting star, following in the footsteps of Virat Kohli. Gill has successfully taken over the crucial number three spot in the Test team and is expected to be a key player in the T20I setup post the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Kohli.

The young cricketer has also taken on leadership roles, captaining the T20I team in their tour of Zimbabwe in July 2024, and leading the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League.
