-The petition challenging bulldozer action against accused individuals in various cases was filed by the Muslim scholars’ body, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind.
-Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued that houses are demolished only when there is a violation of the law.
-The Supreme Court will continue hearing the matter on September 17 and will issue guidelines on a pan-India basis regarding the demolition of unauthorised buildings.
