Hyderabad Schools Hit by Food Poisoning: Over 60 Students Fall Ill
Hyderabad, India – December 13, 2025 – Over 60 students across two state-run schools in Hyderabad were hospitalized today after suspected food poisoning incidents.
At Mandal Parishad Primary School in Madhapur, approximately 40 students fell ill shortly after consuming their mid-day meal, which was reportedly supplied by the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s centralized kitchen. The lunch consisted of dal, potato curry, sambar, and payasam. Students were rushed to local hospitals in Kondapur.
In a separate incident, around 20 students at Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society in Bagh Lingampally experienced stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea after eating breakfast. These students were admitted to King Koti Government Hospital and Niloufer Hospital.
Medical officials have confirmed that all affected students are currently stable and are under close observation. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incidents.
