Fri Dec 05 17:00:00 UTC 2025: Fox News’ Trey Yingst Calls for Gaza Access at Foreign Press Awards
New York, NY – Fox News’ chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst used his acceptance speech at the annual Foreign Press Awards on Thursday to passionately advocate for independent access to Gaza for international journalists. Yingst received the Prize of Excellence at the event.
During his remarks, Yingst acknowledged the vital work and sacrifices of Palestinian journalists in Gaza, who he noted lack the freedom to leave when danger arises. He emphasized the necessity of allowing international media independent access to the region to provide comprehensive reporting.
“Let me also reiterate the position that international journalists must be given independent access to Gaza to report,” Yingst stated.
Yingst further articulated his personal mission to fearlessly and fairly report on critical issues, holding governments and militaries accountable and amplifying the voices of the unheard. He thanked his Fox News colleagues for their support. He dedicated a portion of the speech to his father, Gerald Yingst, who he praised for supporting his dream from a young age.
This is not the first time Yingst has used an award platform to advocate for journalistic integrity. Earlier this year, at the Radio Television Digital News Association’s First Amendment Awards, he defended journalists against the “enemy of the people” narrative.
Yingst has reported extensively from conflict zones around the world, including Afghanistan, Ukraine, Syria, and Israel.
