iBomma Piracy Kingpin Faces Further Interrogation as Court Grants Police Custody
Hyderabad, India – December 5, 2025 – Emandi Ravi, the alleged mastermind behind the notorious iBomma and Bappam TV movie piracy network, will face further interrogation after a Nampally court granted the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police three days of custodial access. This marks the third instance of police custody for Ravi, who was arrested in October for operating a large-scale piracy operation.
Authorities accuse Ravi, 39, of running over 65 mirror websites, including iBomma and Bappam TV, hosting newly released Telugu films in high definition. Police seized hard drives containing nearly 21,000 films and estimate he earned ₹20 crore from the illegal operation, allegedly used to purchase real estate. Approximately ₹3.5 crore in his bank accounts has been frozen.
The police investigation reveals that millions of users accessed pirated content through domains and mirror extensions managed by Ravi, resulting in significant financial losses for producers and exhibitors. The network allegedly diverted users to illegal betting platforms, leading to widespread data theft and financial fraud.
Police say Ravi utilized servers abroad and employed rotating domains and over 110 registered extensions to evade detection. Two associates, Duddela Shivajee and Susarla Prashanth, were previously arrested in September. Ravi is also implicated in four additional FIRs related to piracy, online cheating, and data theft.
The court has scheduled a hearing for Ravi’s bail petition for Monday. The seized material and digital evidence are currently under examination as the investigation continues.
