Billie Eilish Concert Film, Directed by James Cameron, to Hit Theaters in 2026
HOLLYWOOD, CA (October 26, 2025) – Nine-time Grammy winner Billie Eilish is bringing her “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour to the big screen in a concert film directed by none other than Academy Award-winning director James Cameron. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film, set to be released on March 20, 2026.
The news was revealed by Eilish herself via social media and to fans at the final stop of her “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour in San Francisco. Cameron also confirmed the news through his social media accounts.
Eilish first teased the project back in July during her Manchester, UK concert, stating that Cameron and his crew were filming the tour for a potential 3D concert film. While Eilish has had concert films before, like 2023’s “Live at the O2,” which had a limited release, the Paramount Pictures backing signifies a major step up.
The March 2026 release date was previously held by a Matt Stone-Trey Parker-Kendrick Lamar film, which has been pushed back due to production delays.
Paramount is hoping to replicate the success of past concert films, such as Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never,” which grossed nearly $100 million worldwide in 2011. The release of Eilish’s film comes at a time when Paramount is ramping up its feature film output.
The timing also aligns well with Cameron’s upcoming “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” due out December 19th, offering a prime opportunity to trailer the Billie Eilish concert film to a massive audience.
“Hit Me Hard and Soft” is Eilish’s third studio album and has already garnered significant recognition, including multiple Grammy nominations at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards and subsequent nominations for “Wildflower” at the upcoming 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
