TIRUPATI, India – November 19, 2025 – The Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) apprehended two individuals and confiscated twelve red sanders logs in a successful operation on Wednesday near the Bhudanam toll plaza on the Tirupati-Naidupeta highway.
Acting on directives from Task Force head L. Subbarayudu, police officers were conducting routine vehicular checks when they noticed a car behaving suspiciously. According to reports, the vehicle slowed dramatically upon seeing the checkpoint.
As two occupants of the car attempted to escape on foot, police quickly apprehended them and discovered twelve red sanders logs concealed within the vehicle. The suspects are identified as hailing from the Vellore district of Tamil Nadu.
Superintendent of Police (RSASTF) P. Srinivas oversaw the transfer of the seized logs to the task force headquarters in Tirupati. Deputy Superintendent V. Srinivasa Reddy and Assistant Conservator of Forest J. Srinivas are currently interrogating the arrested individuals as the investigation continues.
