Hyderabad, Telangana – A cold wave gripped parts of Telangana on Sunday, forcing residents indoors as temperatures plummeted to their lowest levels this winter. Sirpur (U) mandal in the Kumram Bheem Asifabad district bore the brunt of the chill, registering a bone-chilling 7.4°C, according to the Telangana Development Planning Society.

The icy conditions extended to other districts in the north of the state. Bazarhathnoor in Adilabad shivered at 8.4°C, while Pembi in Nirmal saw thermometers dip to 10.1°C. Jannaram in Mancherial also experienced a significant drop, recording a minimum temperature of 11.5°C.

The intense cold kept most residents huddled inside their homes, venturing out only after 10 am, as the sun began to offer some respite from the frigid temperatures. Forecasters are advising residents to take necessary precautions to stay warm and avoid prolonged exposure to the cold. Further updates on the weather situation are expected in the coming days.
