Fake TTD Recommendation Letter Scam Re-Emerges, This Time Targeting Minister’s Name

Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – November 17, 2025 – A fresh wave of fraudulent activity has hit Tirumala, with scammers now forging recommendation letters for TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) tickets in the name of Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav. This follows a previous crackdown on a similar scam involving fake tickets bearing the names of MPs and MLAs.

The scam came to light after several devotees, having purchased letters purportedly issued by Minister Yadav, were turned away at Tirumala by TTD officials who identified the documents as forgeries. Victims reported purchasing the letters from brokers, often paying substantial sums with the expectation of securing quick darshan (viewing) of Lord Venkateswara.

“We were completely duped,” said one devotee who wished to remain anonymous. “We traveled a long distance and paid a significant amount of money, only to be told the letter was fake. It’s deeply distressing.”

Following the reports, Minister Yadav’s office filed a formal complaint with the Vijayawada Police Commissioner, requesting a thorough investigation. Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

“We are taking this matter very seriously,” Commissioner Babu stated. “We will leave no stone unturned to identify and apprehend those responsible for this fraudulent scheme.”

Authorities are urging devotees to be cautious and only acquire TTD tickets and recommendation letters through official channels. The TTD has also reiterated its commitment to combating such scams and ensuring a smooth and transparent pilgrimage experience for all devotees. This latest incident underscores the ongoing challenge of combating fraud and protecting pilgrims from exploitation.
