Kochi, India – Actress and anchor Anumol has emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7, hosted by Mohanlal. The grand finale, which aired on Asianet and streamed on Jio Hotstar on Sunday, November 9th, saw Anumol take home the coveted trophy and a prize money of Rs 42.55 lakh.
Anumol is only the second woman to win the Malayalam edition of the popular reality show. Aneesh, a commoner contestant, was declared the first runner-up. Shanavas Shanu secured the second runner-up position, followed by Nevin and Akbar.
The season, which began with 20 contestants, including a diverse mix of celebrities and commoners, was marked by challenging tasks and unexpected twists. This season also saw a commoner, Aneesh, reach the finale for the first time in the show’s history.
While the initial announcement promised a Rs 50 lakh prize for the winner, a new system introduced mid-season allowed contestants to earn money through tasks, which was then deducted from the final prize.
The finale was a star-studded affair, featuring performances by legendary singer KS Chithra and appearances by evicted contestants. Mohanlal, the show’s host, expressed his affection for all the contestants, calling them “his kids.”
Viewer polls had initially favored Aneesh as the frontrunner, but Anumol ultimately won the hearts of the audience and the title of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7.
