Mumbai – November 8, 2025 – A political storm is brewing in Maharashtra as Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar accused State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik of acquiring a prime four-acre land parcel in Mira Bhayandar at a drastically undervalued price. Wadettiwar claims Sarnaik procured the ₹200 crore property for a mere ₹3 crore to establish his educational institution.
The allegations surfaced just days after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar faced scrutiny over a land deal involving his son’s company.
“Can a Minister procure such land for his own educational institute?” Wadettiwar questioned, expressing concern about the current state of governance.
Sarnaik vehemently denied the charges, challenging Wadettiwar to provide concrete evidence. “I expect him to provide documents substantiating his allegations against me. I am also wondering where the said land is and how it is linked to me?” he said.
Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that he had not received any formal complaints. He encouraged those with evidence to file complaints so that an inquiry can be ordered.
