ORLANDO, Fla. (WKMG) – Central Florida residents should prepare for a significant temperature drop next week as a strong cold front is forecast to sweep through the region, bringing the chilliest weather of the season just in time for Halloween.

Morning lows on October 31st are expected to plummet into the 40s and 50s, a considerable change from the recent warmth felt across Central Florida. Daytime highs on Friday are predicted to reach the 70s. Residents are advised to plan their Halloween costumes and festivities accordingly.

Before the big cooldown, the weekend will offer warmer temperatures, with highs in the low to mid-80s under mostly sunny skies on Saturday. Breezy conditions are expected, with northeast winds gusting up to 25 mph along the coast, creating a high risk of rip currents. There’s a slight chance of isolated showers on Sunday morning, mainly south and east of the I-4 corridor, but significant rainfall is not anticipated.
