Wed Oct 08 16:23:53 UTC 2025: **Delhi Man Brutally Attacked by Wife with Boiling Oil and Chilli Powder**

**New Delhi, India -** A 28-year-old man is in critical condition after his wife allegedly poured boiling oil and red chilli powder on him while he was asleep in their Madangir home on October 3rd. Dinesh, a pharmaceutical firm worker, is currently in the ICU at Safdarjung Hospital, suffering from severe burns.

According to the FIR filed at Ambedkar Nagar Police Station, the incident occurred around 3:00 AM. Dinesh told police he had returned home from work late, ate dinner, and went to bed. He awoke to excruciating pain, discovering his wife standing over him, pouring hot oil on his torso and face, followed by a sprinkling of red chilli powder.

“Before I could get up or call for help, she sprinkled red chilli powder on my burns,” Dinesh stated in his complaint.

Neighbors and the landlord’s family were alerted by Dinesh’s screams. According to Anjali, the landlord’s daughter, the wife had locked the door from the inside. After repeated requests, the door was opened, revealing Dinesh “writhing in pain” and his wife “hiding inside the house.”

When the landlord attempted to intervene, the wife initially claimed she would take Dinesh to the hospital but then headed in the wrong direction, raising suspicions. The landlord stopped her and arranged for Dinesh to be taken to a nearby hospital before he was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital due to the severity of his burns.

Police confirmed that the medical report described Dinesh’s injuries as “dangerous.” The couple, who have been married for eight years and have a daughter, have had a history of marital discord. Two years ago, the wife filed a complaint with the Crime Against Women (CAW) Cell, but the matter was resolved through a compromise.

Dinesh’s wife has been booked under sections 118, 124 and 326 of the BNS. As of now, no arrest has been made. Police investigation is ongoing.
