**Amritsar, Punjab – September 26, 2025** – The Punjab Police announced yesterday the successful dismantling of a significant narcotics and arms supply network, resulting in the arrest of six individuals across Amritsar and the seizure of over 4 kg of heroin and two firearms.

The arrested individuals are Jagir Singh alias Sucha (35), Angrej Singh (20), Lakhwinder Singh alias Lucky (24), and Baljinder Singh (42), all from Ferozepur district, alongside Gurpreet Singh (30) and Palwinder Singh (35) from Tarn Taran district.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav revealed that preliminary investigations suggest the network was in contact with a handler based in Pakistan, identified as Shah, via social media. The alleged smugglers were receiving shipments of heroin and weapons in the Khemkaran and Ferozepur sectors. These shipments were reportedly dropped by Pakistani smugglers utilizing drones for distribution within the Amritsar area.

“This operation underscores our commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs and illegal arms from our state,” stated DGP Yadav. “We are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the full extent of this network and bring all those involved to justice.”

Amritsar Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar detailed the operation, stating that Jagir and Angrej, cousins who run a ‘dhaba’ in Ferozepur, were initially apprehended with 220 grams of heroin and a Glock pistol. Subsequent investigations based on their disclosures led to the arrests of the remaining suspects and the seizure of additional caches of heroin and a .30 bore pistol.

The investigation is ongoing. The Punjab Police are working to trace the origins of the heroin and firearms, as well as identify any other individuals involved in the illicit operation.
