**Qatari Emir Visits Jordan After Condemning Israeli Strike on Doha**

Amman, Jordan – Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Amman on Wednesday for talks with King Abdullah II, marking his first visit since a recent Israeli strike on Doha. The strike, which targeted a residential area on September 9, resulted in six deaths and has been strongly condemned by the Qatari government as a “blatant, treacherous and cowardly” attack.

The visit follows an emergency summit hosted by Qatar, where Arab and Islamic leaders united to condemn the Israeli action. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) pledged to “activate a joint defence mechanism” in response.

Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid, reporting from Amman, highlighted the significance of the visit. “We are expecting that this is going to be an important bilateral visit because it’s the first one that comes after that strike by Israel on Doha,” he stated. The talks are also expected to address Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has condemned Israel’s assault on Gaza City, denouncing it as an “extension of the war of genocide against the brotherly Palestinian people” and a threat to regional security.

Bin Javaid emphasized the symbolic importance of the emir’s visit to Jordan, a crucial ally in delivering aid to Palestinians. The discussions are expected to cover military cooperation, coordination on addressing the Israeli strikes at the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meetings, and improvements to Jordanian-Qatari relations. Stability in Syria is also likely to be on the agenda.
