**Bengaluru, September 17, 2025:** The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) announced the resumption of Cauvery water supply to homes across Bengaluru this morning, a full day ahead of the originally scheduled completion date. The disruption, initially slated to last from September 15th to 17th, was due to emergency maintenance work on pumping stations under the Cauvery Water Supply Project.
“We completed the work a day ahead of schedule by working overnight to ensure uninterrupted Cauvery water supply. Supply has resumed from September 17 morning,” the BWSSB stated.
The BWSSB had previously informed citizens of the impending disruptions, urging them to store sufficient water in anticipation of the temporary shutdown, which affected all areas dependent on the Cauvery water network.
According to the board, the essential maintenance was conducted to guarantee the smooth and sustained operation of pumping stations and major pipelines, ensuring a reliable drinking water supply to the Greater Bengaluru area for the foreseeable future.
