**Pakistan Begins Rebuilding Airbase Facility Hit by Indian Missile Strike**

**Islamabad, Pakistan** – Reconstruction efforts are underway at Pakistan’s Nur Khan Airbase following a precision strike by India in May, new satellite imagery obtained by NDTV reveals. The airbase, located near Islamabad, is a critical hub for the Pakistan Air Force.

On May 10, India launched “Op Sindoor,” targeting what it said were two specialized military trucks within a facility at the airbase. The trucks were believed to be used for command and control of drone operations. Satellite imagery from that date confirms the destruction of both trucks and significant damage to surrounding buildings.

While the Indian government has not officially confirmed the type of missiles used, defense analysts speculate that the strike was carried out using either BrahMos or SCALP air-launched land attack missiles, or a combination of both, launched from Indian Air Force Su-30 fighters and Rafale aircraft.

Imagery taken a week later showed that the site was cleared and on September 3, construction work was visible, including the construction of new walls.

Geo Intelligence expert Damien Symon suggests surrounding buildings were likely dismantled due to compromised internal systems or structural weakening.

The IAF assault on Nur Khan was strategically significant, striking a base near the Pakistan Army headquarters. This base houses vital assets for air mobility operations, including early warning systems, transport aircraft, and mid-air refueling planes.

The Indian operation came in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in April. According to the Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, the IAF presented the government with a list of operational options within two days of the attack. The strikes on May 7 were followed by calibrated attacks deep within Pakistan, targeting terror centers, radars, runways, and hangars. India claims these strikes, reaching up to 200 km inside Pakistan, ultimately forced Pakistan to agree to a ceasefire on May 10.

The ongoing reconstruction at Nur Khan Airbase suggests Pakistan is working to restore its operational capabilities after the Indian strike.
