Wed Jun 25 14:57:22 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Automobiles Limited Unveils Electric Vehicle Range, Including “Mili Cart” for Milma

**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, June 25, 2025** – Kerala Automobiles Limited (KAL), a state-owned automobile manufacturer, launched a new range of electric vehicles today, including specialized electric ice cream carts for Milma, the state’s cooperative milk producers’ federation. The “Mili Cart” was unveiled alongside electric buggies and mini e-carts at a function held at the KAL facility in Aralumoodu.

Industries Minister P. Rajeeve handed over the key to the first Mili Cart to Milma chairperson K.S. Mani. The initial batch consists of thirty vehicles, with ten carts each allocated to the regional cooperative milk producers’ units in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode. KAL plans to manufacture more e-carts based on Milma’s demand.

Beyond the Mili Cart, KAL showcased its ‘mini e-cart’ and ‘mini e-cart plus’, designed for material transport. The smaller version boasts a 150 kg capacity and a narrow track for maneuverability in confined spaces, suitable for waste collection, construction, industrial, and agricultural applications. The ‘mini e-cart plus’ can carry up to 310 kg. Both mini e-carts feature a tipping mechanism for easy unloading. The ‘e-buggy 1.0’, capable of carrying four passengers, is aimed at resorts and institutions with large campuses.

This launch marks a significant step for KAL, which has been manufacturing three-wheelers powered by fossil fuels since 1984. The company ventured into electric vehicle production in 2019 and previously released a battery-powered garbage collection cart. Future plans include the launch of mobile food carts.

Neyyattinkara MLA K. Ansalan and KAL chairperson Pulluvila Stanley were also present at the launch event.
