**Punisher Joins Spider-Man in Upcoming “Brand New Day” Movie**
**NEW YORK, NY -** In a surprising development, Marvel and Sony have announced that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as The Punisher in the upcoming Spider-Man film, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” This marks the vigilante’s official MCU debut, alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Bernthal, who recently returned to the role of Frank Castle in Disney+’s “Daredevil: Born Again” and is also slated to star in and write a standalone Punisher special, will now share the screen with the web-slinger.
Details surrounding the plot of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” remain tightly guarded, but the movie is expected to deal with the fallout of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” in which Peter Parker sacrificed his identity to save the world, resulting in everyone forgetting who he is.
Returning cast members include Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, reprising their roles from the “Home” trilogy. Sadie Sink will also make her MCU debut in an undisclosed role.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, and production is set to begin this summer in England. The film is slated for release on July 31, 2026.
