**U.S. Military Conducts Successful Strike Against Iranian Nuclear Facilities**
**Washington D.C. -** In a meticulously planned and executed operation dubbed “Midnight Hammer,” U.S. forces successfully struck three Iranian nuclear infrastructure targets on Friday night, effectively crippling their capabilities, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine announced today.
The complex and high-risk mission, conducted with exceptional skill and discipline, involved a large strike package of B-2 Spirit bombers, supported by a complex network of escort, support, and deception aircraft. The operation began at midnight Friday, with part of bombers going west to maintain surprise. The main strike, composed of seven B-2s, flew east and linked up with support aircraft. Just prior to the air strike, a U.S. submarine launched over two dozen Tomahawk cruise missiles targeting key Iranian surface infrastructure.
According to General Caine, the strike package employed multiple deception tactics, including decoys and advanced aircraft, to suppress enemy fighters and surface-to-air missile threats. The B-2 bombers then dropped a total of 14 GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs) on Fordow and Natanz between 6:40 PM and 7:05 PM EST, causing severe damage. Tomahawk missiles then struck Isfahan at 2:10 AM local time in Iran.
“This type of integration is exactly what our joint force does better than anyone else in the world,” General Caine stated.
The operation, involving over 125 U.S. aircraft, marked the first operational deployment of the GBU-57 MOP. Initial assessments indicate the Iranian facilities sustained “extremely severe damage and destruction.” Iranian forces did not engage, and the U.S. retained the element of surprise throughout the mission.
“Operation Midnight Hammer” represents the largest B-2 operational strike in U.S. history and the second-longest B-2 mission ever flown. The U.S. military employed approximately 75 precision-guided weapons in the operation. Final battle damage assessment is ongoing.
