Sun Jun 22 14:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Ajmer Sharif Dargah Gears Up for Mini Urs and Muharram Amidst Monsoon Concerns
**Ajmer, India** – The Khwaja Garib Nawaz Dargah in Ajmer is bustling with preparations for the upcoming Mini Urs and the Islamic New Year, Muharram, beginning on June 27th. Dargah Committee Nazim (administrator) Mohammad Bilal Khan chaired a crucial meeting outlining arrangements for the religious events scheduled until July 7th, with a particular focus on managing the expected influx of pilgrims during the monsoon season.
Khan acknowledged the challenges posed by the monsoon, promising that the administration would strive to provide pilgrims with all possible facilities. The meeting addressed necessary arrangements at the Dargah Sharif and pilgrim accommodations.
A highlight of the celebrations will be the opening of the Chilla Sharif of Hazrat Baba Farid Uddin Ganjshakar Masood Rahmatullah Alaih near the main Astana Sharif. This sacred space will be accessible to devotees for visitation from June 30th to July 3rd, contingent on the sighting of the moon on June 26th. This Chilla Sharif is opened for public viewing only once a year. Water-proof tents will be erected near the Chilla Sharif to protect pilgrims from the rain.
Upon the sighting of the Muharram moon, customary observances such as Marasiya recitations, Bayan-e-Shahadat (narrations of martyrdom), and Salato-Salam (prayers and greetings) will commence at prominent locations within the Dargah complex, including Ahata-e-Noor, Jama Masjid, Chattri Gate, Langarkhana, and Hatai. This was confirmed by Anjuman Syed Zadgan, Dargah Ajmer’s Muharram Convener, Syed Abdul Haq Chishti.
Nazim Bilal Khan also stated that further discussions are planned with all stakeholders involved in the URS, including management and support staff, to incorporate suggestions and ensure effective implementation of necessary arrangements. The Dargah Committee is committed to ensuring a smooth and fulfilling experience for all pilgrims during this sacred period.
