Combloux, France – Tadej Pogacar delivered a stunning performance on Thursday, winning stage 5 of the Critérium du Dauphiné in dominant fashion. The UAE Team Emirates rider attacked on the final climb to Combloux, leaving rivals in his wake and crossing the finish line a minute ahead of Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike). Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe) finished third, 1’22” behind the Slovenian champion.

Pogacar’s victory was built on a strong team performance, with his UAE teammates setting a fierce pace that put race leader Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) under pressure early on. Evenepoel, still suffering from a crash earlier in the race, struggled to stay with the leaders and ultimately finished fifth, 1’50” behind Pogacar, losing the overall lead.

“I felt good today,” Pogacar said after the stage. “The team did a great job, and I was able to attack when I felt the moment was right.”

The decisive move came on the Côte de Domancy, where Pogacar launched a powerful attack that Vingegaard couldn’t match. Pogacar quickly built a significant lead, extending it all the way to the finish line.
