**Construction Worker Dies in Crane Accident at Siganduru Bridge Site**
Shivamogga, India – May 21, 2025 – A 31-year-old construction worker died yesterday at the site of the bridge being built across the Sharavathi backwaters at Siganduru in Sagar taluk, Shivamogga.
The victim, identified as Khasim Ali, a native of Assam, was fatally injured when a clamp from a crane fell on him. Fellow workers rushed him to the government hospital in Sagar, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Officials from the construction company are reportedly arranging for the repatriation of Ali’s body to his home state. The Sagar Rural Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
