**KALABURAGI, May 17, 2025** – Nagalakshmi Choudhary, chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Women, commended the effectiveness of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in Honnakiranagi village, Kalaburagi district, during a visit on Saturday. Choudhary, who has toured 26 districts, stated she was particularly impressed by the dedication and financial achievements of the MGNREGA laborers in Honnakiranagi.

During an interactive session with the workers, Choudhary felicitated 47 families who had completed 100 person days under the scheme. She also highlighted the inspiring achievement of two female laborers who had each deposited ₹1 lakh earned through MGNREGA wages into their bank accounts. She encouraged all workers to continue their participation in the scheme.
