**CUPERTINO, CA** – Apple has released iOS 18.5, bringing a significant upgrade for iPhone 13 users: access to carrier-provided satellite messaging services. This means T-Mobile customers with iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max models can now utilize T-Mobile’s Starlink-powered satellite messaging, currently available for a free trial in the US until July.
It’s important to note that this update only enables access to *carrier-provided* satellite features. Apple’s own Emergency SOS via satellite, available on iPhone 14 and later, is not included.
iOS 18.5 also includes several other enhancements: a new Pride-themed wallpaper, enhanced Screen Time notifications for parents monitoring their children’s device usage, Mail app improvements, and various bug fixes.
