**HONOLULU, HI** – Maryknoll’s Spartans secured their spot in the Division I state softball championship game with a thrilling 9-4 victory over Campbell Sabers Thursday night at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Sophomore Sheyzhelle Iokia led the charge, hitting two home runs, including a game-changing grand slam in the fifth inning.

Campbell briefly threatened a comeback in the top of the fifth, fueled by home runs from Skylynne Gonzalez and Taylor Mendoza, closing the gap to 5-3. However, Iokia’s grand slam extinguished the Sabers’ rally, extending Maryknoll’s lead to 9-4. Iokia’s performance included a state-leading 10th home run of the season.

Maryknoll’s Kasi Cruz pitched a complete game, striking out seven batters. Campbell’s Lily Perreira started for the Sabers, but was replaced by Kaiena Fuentes-Arellano in the fifth.

Maryknoll (14-4) will face top-seeded and defending champion Mililani (14-1) in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. The Spartans seek their first title since 2022, while Mililani aims for their fifth.

In other semifinal action:

* **Mililani 19, Punahou 5:** Defending champion Mililani overcame a 5-0 deficit to defeat Punahou, scoring 19 unanswered runs. Mililani hit five home runs in the game.
* **Kapaa 17, Pac-Five 0:** Kapaa’s Karlee Rose Keale threw a five-inning no-hitter, leading her team to a dominant victory.
* **Pearl City 15, Waimea 9:** Pearl City’s Sky Phoenix Lumabao hit two home runs to secure their place in the championship.
