Sat May 10 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Seeks De-escalation Talks with India Amidst Heightened Tensions
**New Delhi/Islamabad –** Amidst escalating tensions following recent cross-border attacks, Pakistan has reportedly initiated contact with India to arrange a high-level meeting, sources told CNN-News18. The move comes after India launched precision airstrikes targeting multiple Pakistani military installations in response to what New Delhi described as an unprovoked Pakistani attack on Thursday night.
Sources indicate that Pakistan’s request for dialogue stems from a severely deteriorated internal situation and a recognition of the significant damage inflicted on its military infrastructure by India. Indian sources claim that their response was two to three times stronger than the initial Pakistani attack, neutralizing key targets along the International Border and Line of Control with minimal Indian casualties, except for one administrative services officer in Rajouri.
The Indian Air Force confirmed carrying out precision strikes on several Pakistani air force bases, including Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunia, as well as radar sites and weapon storage areas. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh emphasized that India aimed for minimum collateral damage.
While neither government has officially confirmed the impending meeting, the reported communication between the two nations signals a potential shift towards de-escalation through diplomatic channels. The situation remains tense, however, as the full extent of the damage and the potential for further escalation remain unclear.
