**Vijayawada, May 8, 2025** – Several former leaders of a government employees’ union joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Wednesday. The leaders, including B.V. Subba Rao, Bandi Srinivasa Rao, Umamaheshwara Rao, Vijayasimha Reddy, and Tota Seetaramanjaneyulu, were welcomed into the party by former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the party office in Tadepalli.

The new recruits pledged to bolster the YSRCP Employees and Pensioners Wing and work towards the party’s return to power in Andhra Pradesh. They criticized the current NDA government’s handling of employee issues, arguing that only Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership can ensure fair treatment for government employees.

Specific demands raised by the former union leaders included the regularization of contract workers and the payment of outstanding dearness allowance and leave benefits. One leader described Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s previous term (2019-2024) as a “golden era,” contrasting it with what they characterized as the current government’s mismanagement of debt, estimated at ₹1.5 lakh crore.
