Wed May 07 17:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Super Kings snatch thrilling last-ball victory over Kolkata Knight Riders

**Chennai, India** – In a nail-biting finish, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured a thrilling two-wicket victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday, ending their losing streak. Despite a shaky start that saw them lose five wickets for 60 runs, CSK chased down KKR’s 179-run target in 19.4 overs.

A breathtaking 31-run cameo from Urvil Patel, including four sixes in just 11 balls, gave CSK an early boost. However, Patel’s dismissal left CSK teetering on the brink of defeat.

Then, a stunning 30-run over from Vaibhav Arora, which included three sixes and three fours by Devon Conway, completely shifted the momentum of the match. While Conway’s explosive innings (25 balls, 4 fours, 4 sixes) ended at 61 runs, Shivam Dubey’s steady 45 (40 balls, 3 sixes, 2 fours) and MS Dhoni’s unbeaten 17 kept CSK in the hunt.

KKR’s bowlers, Vaibhav Arora (3 wickets) and Varun Chakravarthy (2 wickets), fought back valiantly, but Dhoni’s calm presence ensured a last-ball victory for CSK.

Earlier, KKR, after a strong start spearheaded by captain Ajinkya Rahane (48 runs) and Nitish Rana (26 runs), managed 179 runs. Andre Russell also contributed a quickfire 38 (21 balls, 4 fours, 3 sixes), but KKR’s innings lacked the finishing power to post a significantly higher total. Maheesh Theekshana’s four wickets for CSK restricted KKR’s final score. This win offers a much-needed boost for CSK, who were previously eliminated from playoff contention.
