**Zac Posen’s Gap Studio Creation Debuts at Met Gala**

**NEW YORK, NY (May 5, 2025)** – Actress Laura Harrier made a stunning appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, wearing a custom design by Zac Posen, Executive Vice President and Creative Director of Gap Inc. The gown, created in the newly launched Gap Studio, represents a unique fusion of Gap’s denim heritage and high-fashion couture.

Posen’s design incorporated raw denim, shank buttons, and double-needle stitching—classic Gap elements—combined with luxurious duchess silk satin pant legs and sheer cotton organdie sleeves. This innovative combination reflects the Met Gala’s theme, a tribute to Black style and dandyism, and serves as a symbolic representation of the intersection of workwear and aristocracy. The design was also personally inspired by archival photographs of Harrier’s father and grandfather.

“Dandyism was both a form of rebellion and a uniform of entry,” Posen stated. “I wanted to honor that dichotomy by applying a sculptural technique to tailoring—treating a pant look with the reverence I typically reserve for a gown.”

Posen himself attended the gala in a custom Banana Republic suit, further showcasing the brands’ commitment to quality craftsmanship. The Gap Studio, launched in April 2025, aims to bring artistry and accessibility to global style. Its creations are now appearing on red carpets worldwide.
