**New York, NY** – High fashion and high-end whisky have collided in a landmark collaboration. Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing has partnered with Johnnie Walker Vault to release “Couture Expression,” a limited-edition collection of four exceptional whiskies. Only 25 bottles of each expression will be available.
The project, born from a meeting between Rousteing and Johnnie Walker master blender Dr. Emma Walker, draws inspiration from Rousteing’s childhood memories of the four seasons. Each whisky, crafted using rare whiskies from Johnnie Walker Vault’s 500-strong reserve – including spirits from legendary ghost distilleries Brora and Port Dundas – reflects a unique seasonal profile. Spring boasts floral and mineral notes, Summer explodes with tropical fruits, Autumn blends chocolate malt with smoky peat, and Winter offers a balance of Islay malts and sweetness.
Rousteing has also redesigned the iconic Johnnie Walker bottle, commissioning Baccarat crystal carafes adorned with metallic drapes in gold, silver, rose, and black. The winged stopper, a symbol of resilience, reflects Rousteing’s personal journey.
The “Couture Expression” collection, priced at $20,000 per bottle, is available for pre-order from May 5th at Harrods, with an official launch on May 26th. A VIP dinner hosted by chef Yann Nury will precede the launch at New York’s McKittrick Hotel on May 3rd, setting the stage for the Met Gala. Rousteing described the project as embodying “the strength of a timeless brand.”
