**Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu –** A new ₹7 crore synthetic athletics track at the Annai Sathya Stadium in Thanjavur was inaugurated Monday by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin via video conference. The project, initially funded partially by the central government’s Khelo India Scheme, faced delays resulting in the Centre withdrawing its full funding commitment. The state government covered the remaining costs to complete the floodlit facility. Simultaneously, Stalin also inaugurated a new football field and a dedicated Wushu academy (STAR Academy) at the stadium.
