**[City, State] –** PGA Tour rookie Ricky Castillo is making waves in his first season, and it’s not just his golfing prowess that’s turning heads. The 20-year-old, who earned his PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry Tour’s 2024 points list, has a familiar face on his bag: his older brother, Derek.

Castillo, the youngest winner of the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season, has previously relied on his father and other caddies. However, for his PGA Tour debut, he’s chosen the invaluable expertise of his brother. The sibling duo previously collaborated in 2018 at the US Junior Amateur, and their partnership continues to pay dividends.

“He knows exactly how I like to play the game and every distance and what I’m good at,” Castillo said of his brother’s contribution. “We play with each other all the time, so we know exactly how each other’s games are, so it’s really helpful to have someone like that on the bag.”

Derek Castillo, a former collegiate golfer at California State University, Fullerton, boasts a successful golfing background himself, including a Big West Men’s Golfer of the Month award. While he pursued professional golf on the PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latinoamerica, he ultimately found his niche supporting his brother’s burgeoning PGA Tour career. His experience also extends to caddying on the LPGA Tour.

While Derek may not have reached the PGA Tour as a player, his integral role as Ricky’s caddie ensures he remains a vital part of his brother’s journey to success.
