Sun May 04 15:32:06 UTC 2025: ## India Vows Strong Response to Pakistan After Terror Attack

**New Delhi** – India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has vowed a strong response to those who threaten the country, following a recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 tourists. Speaking at an event in Delhi today, Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting India’s borders and emphasized his responsibility to work with the armed forces to deliver a “befitting reply” to those who threaten India’s security.

The statement comes amidst heightened tensions with Pakistan, which India accuses of harboring the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack. India has already taken several retaliatory measures, including banning all Pakistani visas and suspending the Indus Waters Treaty. Furthermore, there have been numerous ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) in recent days, met with effective counter-fire from Indian forces.

Singh alluded to the public’s desire for action against Pakistan, assuring the nation that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, a suitable response will be forthcoming. He highlighted Modi’s decisive nature and willingness to take risks.

This latest escalation follows a history of cross-border tensions, including India’s 2019 Balakot airstrike in response to the Pulwama attack and the 2016 surgical strikes in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The Defence Minister’s statement underscores India’s firm resolve to counter terrorism and protect its national interests.
