Sun May 04 20:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Rainout Forces Cardinals-Mets Doubleheader in St. Louis

**ST. LOUIS, MO** – For the second time this week, and the second consecutive season, rain forced the postponement of a St. Louis Cardinals game against the New York Mets. Saturday’s game at Busch Stadium was rained out, resulting in a split doubleheader scheduled for Sunday.

Game 1 will begin at 12:15 PM CT (1:15 PM ET), followed by Game 2 at 5:15 PM CT (6:15 PM ET). The Cardinals will send Erick Fedde to the mound in the opener and Andre Pallante in Game 2. The Mets will counter with rookie Blade Tidwell making his Major League debut in Game 1 and Tylor Megill in Game 2.

Tickets from Saturday’s rained-out game will be valid for Game 2. Busch Stadium gates will open at 10:15 AM CT for Game 1 and reopen at 3:45 PM CT for Game 2.

The Cardinals, who have lost all five games against the Mets this season, had a previous game rained out in Cincinnati earlier this week. This recent postponement follows a similar situation in April, where rain forced a doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox. The team opted against starting highly-touted prospect Michael McGreevy, who was recalled from Triple-A but will now appear out of the bullpen.

Meanwhile, the Mets will look to continue their strong road performance, boasting the lowest road ERA in the Majors at 3.08. Tidwell, the Mets’ 15th-ranked prospect, expressed his surprise and excitement at receiving the call-up, a moment he celebrated with his puppy, Bentley.
