CHENNAI, INDIA – May 5, 2025 – A 19-bed dialysis center in Porur, Chennai, has expanded its capacity, thanks to a collaborative effort between the Rotary Club of Chennai Capital and Madras West Round Table 10 (MWRT-10). The second phase of the Sathyalok Shanti Lulla MWRT-10 RCC TANKER Foundation Dialysis Centre, inaugurated today by Health Minister Ma. Subramanian, now boasts 19 dialysis machines, increasing treatment capacity to over 126 patients on a rotational basis.
The project, primarily funded by the Rotary Club of Chennai Capital (raising over ₹2.5 crore), aims to provide free or heavily subsidized dialysis to underprivileged patients. Over 8,200 dialysis sessions have already been provided since the center’s inception. The expansion was celebrated with the attendance of local MLA K. Ganapathy, along with other dignitaries from Round Table India and the Rotary Club.
