**Karimnagar, Telangana, May 5, 2025** – Mild tremors were felt in parts of erstwhile Karimnagar and Adilabad districts in Telangana on Monday evening at approximately 6:50 p.m. The National Centre of Seismology reported a 3.8 magnitude earthquake originating in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district at a depth of 10 km.
Residents in several towns and villages, including Karimnagar, Ramadugu, and Choppandandi, reported feeling the tremors for about two seconds. While some residents in Karimnagar city experienced building vibrations, prompting them to evacuate their homes, there have been no immediate reports of damage to property or casualties.
The earthquake follows a 5.9 magnitude quake recorded in Mulugu on December 4, 2024. The tremors were accompanied by unseasonal rain and strong winds in some areas, causing power outages.
