Sun May 04 14:18:47 UTC 2025: ## Netanyahu Vows Multi-Phased Response After Houthi Missile Strike on Israeli Airport

**Jerusalem, May 4, 2025** – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised a multi-phased response to a missile attack on the vicinity of Ben Gurion Airport, allegedly carried out by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels. The attack, which reportedly involved a hypersonic ballistic missile according to Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, prompted several international airlines to cancel flights to Israel, although services have since largely resumed to pre-war levels following the conflicts with Hamas and Hezbollah.

Netanyahu, in a Telegram video message, stated that Israel has retaliated against the Houthis in the past and will continue to do so, though he declined to provide specifics on the planned response. He indicated that the retaliation would be a series of actions rather than a single strike.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz echoed this sentiment, vowing retribution, stating, “Whoever harms us, we will harm them sevenfold.” The Houthi attacks have increased since the October 7, 2023, conflict in Gaza, with many missiles previously intercepted by Israeli defense systems. The U.S. also conducted strikes against Houthi targets in March. The escalating situation raises concerns about further regional instability.
